Today I'd like to share a few layouts in my family album using COGS and BANNERS as the main chipboard embellishment. I am just loving the banners- they are so versatile and have become my favourite chipboard embellishment! The COGS are a very close second- terrific for those 'boy' layouts!!!...and with FOUR men in my life, I can never have enough stock!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Julie surprised me with a special title in my pack: my name! As I tend to scrapbook everyone in my family except me, this lovely title inspired and encouraged me to find a photo of myself so that I could use it. I recently visited my family in South Africa and came back with many photos- this is one of them. I have been very busy scrapbooking layouts for our travel albums and will be sharing more of those layouts later this month - most of them multi-photo layouts so creating a single photo layout again was wonderful. I used Basic Grey Periphery collection and embellished with flowers, lace and pearls and inked the title with Versacolor.

Scrapbooking Memories publication

So very excited and proud to see my first layout published in Scrapbooking Memories and then the bonus to see it featured on the CONTENTS page too! This is a layout I did using a2zscraplets theme set RAINDROPS which I am sure you'll agree, was just perfect for this photo of my older 2 sons way back in 1989....cute as a bug!!!!
Then a few weeks ago I received an email with more GREAT news:
'Thank you for submitting your page to Scrapbooking Memories. Your layout is lovely and we would be thrilled to consider  Christmas for one of our upcoming galleries. For your projects to feature in Scrapbooking Memories we require them to be sent in as soon as possible for photography purposes. Thank you!'
Thank you dear publishers!!!!
'Soon as possible' was immediately for me-I boxed it that very night and mailed it the next morning!!!!!!!!!! It has been photographed and I have already received it back from them- amazing!

I shared many layouts in a previous post of my sons on their farm visit; here is another layout, this time using the HORSE shape...have included a close-up of the frame of the FLAG BANNER which I decided to include as a border strip ...cut a small piece out to fit the horse in.....and then did some hand stitching which I don't normally do but it did need something and I really liked the result. I love the flag banner and its versatility ...I put brads in the holes and wound black string around them to connect them, then stapled to secure to page.

Thanks for visiting! Have a great day:)
